Post Lines

f6.3 3.2secs iso 80

This is a light post standing in front of our house. I was tinkering with the speed and the RAW settings of my camera last night and tried out the long exposure (bulb) setting. Acquired Lightroom 2.0 recently which is one of the few softwares that can read and convert my camera's RAW files so this one got some adjustments in post.

I can remove the nasty lense flare in the middle in PS but I think that beats the fun of photography.

Where to?

f2.0 1/1250 iso200 Macro Manual

Friends, Dred and I went to Anawangin, Zambales last weekend. The place reminds me of "The Beach" movie -- relaxed, worry-free living. Through the mini forest before the seashore are two brackish streams where you can cool down after a hot saltwater dip in the beach. The trees' leaves served as gobos against the 12 noon sun.

Tom, with his Nikon d40, and I went nature shooting on these streams (with him soaking his wallet and his new cellphone along the way --haha!). Caught this ant running around this small twig. The sun's ray served as its spotlight. I was quite surprised of the bokeh here to the point that it looked like I blurred the background in Photoshop (which I didn't :p).

Click the photo to appreciate the tiny ant :)

On the way to Caramoan Island was an island stopover (supposedly owned by Dina Bonevie) where we were given 30 minutes to walk around (literally) the small island. Found these two kids playing on the other side.

Synchro Sleeping

Before I got a compact camera, I was (and still am) using my cellphone to shoot interesting things. This is one of them 2megapixel photos.

Earlier this year, Dred, Elma and I went to Quiapo to check the prices of the compact cameras in Hidalgo, then had a sidetrip and walked around nearby Chinatown afterwards.

While wandering around looking for a place to eat, we passed by these two kids sleeping on a makeshift mat. I drew my cellphone from my pocket, literally pointed it to the kids without looking at the screen and pushed the button
while walking.

I know, I know... Street photography isn't always about the street children, sad faces, poor people etc. but notice the devious smile of the girl on the right. She saw us walking toward them and pretended to be sleeping. After a few steps she stood up and looked around.
Just another day in the office? :)
